A Continuing Struggle
I've still received no word from the translator of the Pokemon Names which I hope to use.
Additionally, my return to College has placed a great deal of stress upon me which both eats up my time and my health. Because of this, I am still in Veridian City.
But, even as I write this today with a bad headache and an unrelenting desire to return to my bed, I have made some progress today. Most encouragingly, I found the bits I wrote today came easier than they have in the past. Translating is becoming closer to second-nature and my speed of transference is increasing, even as my frequency drops.

I was actually thinking about some Pokemon names for another auxlang (namely Idolinguo, closely related to Esperanto - Google it). Currently I've "translated" them up to Nidoking. Perhaps I could help you with some?
ReplyDeleteHi there. Are you talking about this list?

I think that would be good to use, since it's taken almost directly from Japanese.
I'm very surprised to see this project, since I was thinking about doing the same to help in my learning of Esperanto.
I would be glad to help you with this project.
Ĝis!
@Arkblitz: I am aware of Idolinguo, and should I fail in my pursuit of permissions on my current list, there are several others from which I may choose as my next attempt. But thanks.
ReplyDelete@ShootingStarMax: I'm on my phone at the moment, so I will save that link for later, but from the URL, I think that they are different. The list I am using is also translated from Japanese. I plan to compare the two tomorrow. Your help would be greatly appreciated! How comfortable are you with the language?
I'm still learning, but with the help of a dictionary, I think I can translate almost anything. I know the basics. Also, my native language is Spanish, not English.
ReplyDelete@ShootingStarMax: Well, I certainly never would have guessed that. You're English is excellent! My Spanish is deplorable at best.
ReplyDeleteBut I digress. If I were to get you a list of Moves, would you translate them for me? No limitations on time or any obligations to finish.
I can get a list of moves from Bulbapedia, and I'll try to translate it.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a plan! Your help is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThe list you posted looks great! There are a few bits that will need editing (such as -o noun endings inside of compound words), but your diligence and celerity put me to shame.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to worry, currently I have lots of free time. About the -o or -a endings, I had some doubts because sometimes it would be hard to pronounce, for example, Saltpiedbato in place of Saltopiedbato. But anyway, I'm just learning!
